The thing that protects is eating as little as possible, as in CR, IMO.

If I do an analysis of nutrients ot blood pressure, eg, I can find several "associations" and I could write an article on each one, but it would be meaningless without the biochem to back it up. They keep saying they don't know what causes cancer because they haven't figured out what causes it, so these articles are just associations.

Starch is in all plants, so it may be "protective" to eat LA to minimize "starch", at least, the math may show that. That doesn't mean I can believe it or can do anything with that knowledge. They'll have to feed pure LA to humans for 20 yrs to find out.

The low fat house has it's arguments as well.

And the article:

"Men with high blood levels of linoleic acid, omega-6 fatty acids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids were less likely than men with low levels to develop prostate cancer. "

What does that mean, exactly? Are those "polyunsaturated fatty acids" fish or plant? Is it the combination of linoleic and fish derived EPA/DHA? The first thing they need to do is state exactly what they mean.

And what the hxxx is high? Maybe I get that with a teaspoon of soy oil and 1 capsule of fish oil to drive out the ALA?

Regards.

Hi JW:Am I confused? It seems to me that these studies appear to be saying that LA is protective against both CVD and some forms of cancer.Rodney.> Hi Rodney,> I have a feeling that anything that provides nutrition to the cells also provides nutrition to the carcinomas.> LA IS the one proven essential fatty acid.> Maybe in excess LA is bad, but so is everything else.> > Regards.> ----- Original Message ----- > From: Rodney > > Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 7:07 PM> Subject: [ ] Re: [CR] Good fats and health> > >
