Guest guest
Stacie, Oh my word do I ever feel your frustration with the temperature roller coaster! I live in Orlando and it is the exact same situation here with the wild swings from one day to the next between muggy and disgustingly humid high 80's to a high of 50 the next. We have the heat on one day and the air conditioning the next! It makes it so much worse with FMS. I especially find the Florida humidity to be the MAIN trigger and factor in my FMS flares. Our goal is to try to move to a drier climate in the next year. I can deal with the cold dry air and in fact, see a significant drop in my symptoms with the cooler, drier air. It's just far too seldom that we in central Florida have that pleasure. Take care, Cheryl E. > > Can you only imagine how much worse it is now with the seriously fluctuating temperatures outside. Here in Texas we went for 80 degrees to freezing rain in a couple of hours, then snow. Not just anywhere in Texas but only a few miles north of the ocean, the deep south. Then the next day it was 80 again. This week it has been freezing with wind, and tommorrow it is supposed to be near 80 again. My poor body is so confused. > Even staying inside doesn't help, because my body can sense the change a day or two before it happens. The difference in temp the difference in humidity the difference in high pressure. Good grief I'd like to just be shot right now. > Stacie >
Guest guest
Our ability to maintain internal homeostasis is challenged by weather changes, temperature fluctuations, travel, stress, etc. Anything that forces a change upon us can make us worse - go into a flare or collapse from exhaustion. It's a brain thing, I'm sure of that now! Whether a virus has attacked part of our brain (hypothalamus?) or our nervous system, who knows? One day researchers will figure it out! - Dom > > Stacie, > > Oh my word do I ever feel your frustration with the temperature > roller coaster!
