Try calorieking.com - it has a lot of foods in its database.

Nutrition Website

Does anyone know of a website that you can look up food and get the

nutritional information about it? Thanks!

For an easy at a glance ABC list of common foods look at this one:

http://www.ntwrks.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm

For a more detailed one check out this USDA data base of foods and

food products: http://www.nutri-facts.com/search.asp

Thanks for all the nutritional sites everyone. I am going to start the next

challenge on Aug 1st too. This week I am really researching the foods so I

can have everything planned out. :o) Once I have a sample day planned out,

I am going to e-mail you guys and ask for some advice. I still have some

more questions before I begin....just want to get them all written down

first.

I also want to say that this is really a great place to get support.

Everyone is so helpful!! I have quit diets in the past several

times...usually after about 2 weeks so my family is betting how quickly I

will quit this one. I don't blame them because of my past behavior BUT I

keep telling them that I REALLY want to do this. So I am looking to you

guys for all of my support! THANKS! :o)

Thanks, -

I haven't checked out that website in a while! They've really done a

lot of updating and adding features! I could spend days exploring the

info there!

I use it all the time; found out about it from the

Nutrition in Complementary Care Listserv.

For a free reference, I think it is fairly complete

and I LOVE that I can find potassium/phosphorous

content for most foods (I'm a renal dietitian).

As for their Inflammatory scale, glycemic scale- I

can't comment. I think it is an interesting

concept...
