Guest guest
25: AED: Automatic Home Defibrillator. He said this is extremely important. Many people die at home because they dont have these. They cost around 1800 dollars. He said everyone has a smoke detector in their house and check the batteries every year, but no one has these. He said once you get over 50 or 60, your odds of dying at home from heart attack was way higher than dying at home from a fire He said the best place to have a heart attack is a hospital as you have the greatest chance of surviving. He said number two was a casino in Las Vegas because they monitor everyone in there. And if someone goes "down" security is right there and they always have a AED. He has started a program in his state where all movie theaters, play houses, restuarants, malls, etc etc get AEDs. 26: Homocysteine level: He didnt recommend a level. 27: CRP: Again, no recommended level. 28: Statins: For high cholesterol, and precenting stoke/heart attack if diet doesnt do it. 29: Baby Aspirin: 81 mg,time released. For anyone over 40 30: Vitamins: Vit E is out. Folic Acid is In but questionable 31: Hormones: Not cardioprotective- some are bad for the heart 32: Sex: Quantity and quality are important. He said in the studies, the more sex men had, reagrdless of whether it was with someone else or with themselves, the longer they lived. For women, he said, quantity didnt matter. But women who enjoyed sex the most, lived the longest. He said, "so the age old arguement: Men want it more, women want it better". I said, maybe this has something to do with why the mormans live longer. 33: Stress Management 34: Take Vacations 35: Enjoy Life
