Guest guest
Hi Jane, I am taking Neurontin for the nerve pain. I take a relatively low dose (300mg 2x a day), as it does make me feel a little out of it. I couldn't live without it, though, as it relieves the nerve pain AND HEADACHES. I am housebound anyway, so the spaciness(?) doesn't bother me much. It has really decreased from when I first started taking it. Hang in there and treat the sx as they pop up. You'll be ok. :-) See you soon, Joan LI NY

Guest guest
Hi Jane, So sorry you have to suffer the pain of LD now too, I am on 1800mg of Neurontin daily, it does help me with the nerve pain, I tried not taking it to see what would happen, and I quickly restarted it and raised the dosage. I think maximum dose is 2400mg. I have heard that others were very groggy, almost drunk-like when they started this med, fortunately, I had no problem with it. Hang in there I hear it passes. Guest guest
Hi folks: Just to say that today I jumped a small obstacle and landed unexpectedly on ice, lost my footing and my right shoulder took the full impact, landing on rock solid ice. Result: a clean break of the humerus about an inch below the shoulder joint. Typing one hand, left-handed, is time consuming until my left arm and, probably more important, right brain get better trained. So I will be lurking for the foreseeable future. Fortunately my ability to read everyone's wonderful posts is not impaired. Rodney.
Guest guest
Very sorry to hear about your mishap... I don't know if this has been studied but perhaps you might want to eat 100% of your caloric estimate for maintenance at your current weight, at least until your bones knit up. I can't imagine a mechanism for CR helping bone healing, but concede this is just speculation on my part. JR PS: You might take the opportunity to ask your doctor about your apparent bone mass from viewing the X-Ray images. -----Original Message----- From: Rodney [mailto:perspect1111@...] Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2005 5:01 PM Subject: [ ] Uh oh Hi folks: Just to say that today I jumped a small obstacle and landed unexpectedly on ice, lost my footing and my right shoulder took the full impact, landing on rock solid ice. Guest guest
Hey ! He always does 3 pages of labs when he takes blood and the antibodies are in there. I'm guessing that test was normal or he wouldn't have wanted me to decrease. I increased on my own from 3 grains to 3.5 the week before I went in based on symptoms. Since then which has been 2 weeks since I stated on 1/2 grain more, I increased to 4 grains and feel a ton better. I have had no heart palps or other hyper symptoms. I guess I will start looking for research to take him that shows dosing by symptoms is what we hashi's need:) I will call and request my labs to be mailed. cw -- Re: Re: Uh oh Hi, I can second the paragraph about Armour helping with Hashi's. I had lab work done, and I have no sign of hashi's at the present time. My levels are perfect, and I am feeling great! So, I am so greatful for Armour. Currently taking 2 1/4 dose. No sign of antibodies. Hang in there Crystal. Keep looking up. You may have to fight this one. Have you had your antibody levels checked? For the rest of it go to stopthethyroidmadness.com, click on " causes of hypo " then click the blue highlighted " Hashimoto's " You will get more info. Venizia HOW DO I TREAT IT? You treat Hashi's the same way you do just plan hypothyroid–with thyroid medications. We have seen those on thyroxine T4-only have some success in stopping the attack, but patients who switched to Armour noticed even better results, especially if they dosed by symptoms rather than labs. Some doctors have unwisely recommended non-treatment until labwork " stabilizes " , but that could take months and years, and you continue to suffer. The attack can happen over a few weeks or extend into years. It has been stated that antibodies can be present for years even after you counter the attack with thyroid hormones like Armour. But patients on Armour have noted that antibodies greatly fall if they dose high enough. > > My doc called and wants me to reduce my 3.5 grains of Armour to 3 even now I > ve started on 4 based on symptoms. Guest guest
you go girl. I had to have four grains too--from 90mg to 240mg in one week. Gracia Hey !
