Hi folks:

Since things seem to be quiet here right now perhaps a little

reminder is in order that there are two databases to which members

can add their own information. These data are accessed by clicking

the 'Database' button on the left of the page.

One has data relating to when members started CRON and what their

BMI, body fat and ratio of waist circumference to height are. The

second contains data relating to fitness levels based on a very

simple American Heart Association walking fitness test.

These tables are helpful to give us all an overall perspective of

some important measures related to health. It would be nice to have

data for more of us so that we can see where we stand compared with

what others are doing.

So please take a look and consider entering your own numbers. Thanks.

Rodney.

Rodney,

I agree that it is important for every one to update their data at

least once per year to monitor progress. However, given that this is

a " CR support group " we should also make an effort to determine what

is our level of caloric restriction. This cannot be determined from

the data in the database.

If we follow a procedure for determining Percent CR like I outlined in

Message 18375, it is necessary to record HEIGHT, and LEVEL OF

ACTIVITY, and daily CALORIC INTAKE. As it is, not many members of

this group really know their level of caloric restriction.

I think that the database format needs to be modified so that it can

be more useful.

I for one would love to know my percent of CR (if any) but don't know

how to figure it. Does somebody actually " know " ?

I have seen and read lots of speculation over the years but investing time

and/or trying to target based on such speculations does not appeal to me at this

time.
