Guest guest
Dear List, I am not sure if we're doing the NET part of this well, but the only time Isaac seems cheerful lately is if we let him do what he wants, usually a non-productive activity or if he is going places. He has taken to the mixed drill format at a faster pace very well, and for twenty minutes including cards and a puzzle, he did not whine and act miserable which is how he has been acting for a couple/few weeks far too often for our liking. I am not sure what to do. Is it really productive to do less table time and try other things? This is an older child who has limited skills, and you can not leave by himself, unless he has a video and even then you have to check on him a lot. However, he is burning out, and so are we. I need my therapists to see this in action and I need to find some balance. How do you do the balance between your drill work, other areas of need and recreation? I know most of the kids are younger, so it is not exactly the same, but there must be some struggle to figure out what is a good ratio of work to play to learning in the environment assuming that is going to happen? Lastly, Isaac was very happy walking through the mall and each time he examined the candles we labeled the colors and sniffed them and set them back, etc., and talked a lot about everything we saw, but this seems so, I don't know, basic? Guest guest
Hi all, Let me reintroduce myself. My name is 48 married. I have been doing cron now since May. My husband does not care to eat the way I do, so I have different meals at dinner. Before I started Cron I was in DR Phil's weight loss group, still am. I joined them a year ago for I was having problems with accountability. I am 5'2" 106lb. Four years ago I was 148lb lost 40 pounds, then it was creeping up last fall. This support I get from the meeting has enable me to get back to 106 and stay. The problem I am having is that I could not follow the way DR Phil say's to eat. I did away with my equal. And no long drink soda. They can't or won't do the same. They are all having trouble losing and DR Phil say's one does not need to count calories. I tell them it works for me to and they all seem to want to just follow the book. I can see how is finding it frustrating at work. If I go to the mall I take my own lunch. It scares me to see what people eat in the food court. I have to tell you all that I feel better then when I was 25.
Guest guest
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with lose bowel movements that come from no ware? I am not sure if he has a virus or what. We have never had problems with leaky gut before. Could the medication be causing it? He is taking (Famvir Nizoral and Celexa) I am seeing slow improvement but for some reason I have this new bonus. I will be talking to Dr. G. today but I always love hearing from you guys. Any thoughts are wonderful.
Guest guest
, I just spoke with Dr. G earlier about this today, recently he prescribed an antibiotic for my son because I had noted that when on an antibiotic he seemed to be more alert. When my son was on the antibiotic regularly (in addition to a probiotic)not only was he more alert, but his bowel movements are now normal. He also had loose bm's for sometime prior to the antibiotic. Mindy Re: Re: Changes Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with lose bowel movements that come from no ware? Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you have had sudden changes in bowel movements? We just upped or SSRI (Celexa) and he is doing really well across the board expect for bowel movements (lighter in color and much softer). He seems happy and social and is moving forward. So as you might guess I am confused. We also added Epson salt baths, Enzymes and Probiotics, all of which I know Dr. G is not a big fan of. Anyway I guess it could be that. He has been on all of them before and done great so I don't think so. I also thought maybe he has become GC sensitive. Something we have never been before. The only thing is I don't see any negative behavior changes. I was thinking of taking him off all but the Dr. G. medication to see what happens but it the enzymes etc are helping is that the right thing? I also thought maybe the Epson salt baths have been pulling out toxins. Any thoughts would be great, sorry for rambling
Guest guest
Hi -- How many days have his stools been like this? That happens to my son every single time we up the SSRI. Although his stools are usually quite dark because of all the iron he takes. It only lasts for about two days. Dr. G doesn't have a problem with probiotics -- in fact, he recommends certain brands. He likes Kyodophilus and single-strain probiotics such as acidophilus. Guest guest
, I do recall having loose BMs, even diarrhea, when first starting an SSRI (either Celexa or Paxil, not sure which). I believe it is also listed as a possible side effect, check your RX. Dr. G said it would not likely be a side effect, but it sure seemed to be. We had light colored stools (some alarmingly light--almost white) off/on for over a year. His liver panel was always fine, which I worried about. Once we started enzymes his stools became much darker and normal looking. We are still on a very limited diet, in addition to the enzymes. We once ran out of the enzymes, and the stools turned light again. hth, Becky Re: Changes > Hi everyone, > > I was wondering if any of you have had sudden changes in bowel movements? > We just upped or SSRI (Celexa) and he is doing really well across the board > expect for bowel movements (lighter in color and much softer). Guest guest
Veri, Do you have a Neighbor or a Friend who could also be around just in case needs help? is 13 and it might be good for her to do something's on her own. This is a Normal stage for kids also. Umm The pulling away from Mom stage. But remind her you will be a call away plus you will be home it is not going to take all your time from her. Sit down and talk with her on what she can do that would help you when she get's home. With she will help me with most of the cleaning around here. Outside work she will not help me with lololol. I have to hand it to her though Dang she is a GREAT cook. Alittle at a time give this to her before you start the new job. Lunch money can always be put in the Back Pack and have her get everything needed done the night before school. Put reminder notes around the house as well. But another thing is you can put something special in her back pack. Even if it is a Note with a Smiley face on it saying your doing good and I love you sweetie :-). Little thing's mean so much to a child. Robbin ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Robbin, thanks for that. I know Jaye is a bit concerned but for the most part I think she is trying to put the guilt trip on me all the while just smiling and letting me think she is really worried and knowing it is ok. She can do perfectly well on her own at home all day when I am at work. As it is now she rarely calls me when she is home ill, just when she is at school not feeling well. And yes, she knows that she can still call me but she probably should not call as often as she does now. She also was a bit upset that she will not be able to walk to see me at work next summer. Now I work just five blocks from the house, soon it will be over a couple of miles. She will get past this and it will be fine, she just is not the easiest one to adjust to change. You would think she was the old one and not me when it comes to being able to accept change. Guest guest
Veri: Congratulations on the new job It's amazing what even a small raise can do and awesome you will finally have insurance for yourself. As far as Jaye, goes I know she will be fine. Yes the comfort zone will be tested, but she'll do great. I've learn with Jay (who is also 13) that we get everything organized the night before. The backpack, clothes for the next day etc. The only thing we do in the morning is pack lunches (my fridge is too small to do ahead of time). If we forget there is always money in the lunch account if needed (my kids rarely eat hot lunch at school). Sometimes I will do like Robbin suggested an put little notes in his backpack or binder..things like I'm proud of you, hope your having a great day etc. Nothing embarrassing though, just in case. Have a great trip to Texas and hope the weather holds out for you. Be safe & Happy Thanksgiving! Beth & Hannah, 11, unspecified arthritis; asthma; gerd; migraines Sending prayers & happy thoughts, Beth :-) changes Well Jaye is frustrated and worried that she is loosing me when she needs me. I will be changing jobs beginning December 3rd and will not be as accessable to my kids. Of course I will be there if they really need me but I have told Jaye that means emergency kind of stuff. I told her that forgetting her back pack or leaving home work at home?and forgetting lunch money will not be on the list of reasons for me to run to her school any more. She is going to have take on that responsibility. I am going to be working at a Health Clinic for the uninsured and underinsured. I think this is very exciting and going to be a great change for me. I will be the Administrative Assistant there and will get about $1 per hour increase in wages which will help out very much. I will also now be able to get medical insurance for myself and dental, vision and other if I want them. I have not had insurance on me for a while and so have neglected a few things. Nothing major but some things that need to be checked out now can be done. I will keep working here at the church 10 hours a week and that will help me as well.? I have been on the Board of Directors for a while at the Health Clinic and so am familiar with some of what happens there. One neat thing is that they know about Jaye and her jra and are fine to work with me. I start on the 3rd and they already know that December 10th I will be off all day while we are traveling to Kansas City to see the rheumy and optho. I think I will get sick pay for that day as well after only being there a week. But if I don't get the sick pay I will not complain, I will just keep on keeping on. Guest guest
Hey , someone may have mentioned this already (I am making my way through the digests and haven't reached today yet) but your little one's reaction with the swollen and red foot sounds a lot like gout - perhaps the oxalic acid in the raw spinach or chard is not agreeing? Guest guest
, I know Sally Fallon of Weston Price does not recommend juicing swiss chard, spinach, or kale because of the oxalic acid. Good luck! Guest guest
I know that Donna Gates of BED recommends that cruciferous vegetables be cooked or fermented because of how difficult they are to digest. So even for those without oxalate issues, it seems best to not consume them raw and I also believe I have read that they can slow down thyroid function (unless someone has an overactive thyroid, then it could help). Guest guest
I am just getting into juicing more and am expanding my garden. Great for building immunity: Garlic Onion Cilantro Parsley Also cilantro and parsley -- flat leaf and regular -- are great to juice. They help the body detox heavy metals. Also great to add to bone broth. I am also growing stinging nettle to add to broth. Dandelion is great juiced or you can dry and make tea. It supports kidney and liver function. Celery and carrots -- use in broth and juicing. Beets - make kvass Cabbage - make sauerkraut Tomatoes pepper onion garlic - lacto fermented salsa Tomatoes - lacto fermented ketchup Just some quick ideas! Guest guest
Thank you so much for all the great gardening ideas! Especially the garlic and cilantro--never occurred to me, although I'd heard both were good for detoxing. And boy, are the dandelions springing up all over the place! Another great idea--for juicing rather than for our garden, of course! I'm placing my order for Heirloom Seeds tomorrow, so your suggestions were most timely! in TN
