Hi Rad:

Pleased to hear of some good products from Lindt. Here, some of

their chocolate products list hydrogenated palm (kernel?) oil as the

leading ingredient. As usual, yer have to check the ingredients'

list ............ and hope it is accurate.

Hi Rodney,

Over here in Europe, the ingredients are stated to be:

Ingredients: chocolate,sugar,cocoa butter,vanilla - a natural

flavor.May contain traces of peanuts, soybean, nuts and milk.

So, on the face of it, it sounds to be ok.

Hi All,

I would have thought that liquor may be quicker and pot may not, but

candy is not dandy.

I sugar okay?

Cheers, Al.

Hi,

Just as I am typing this, I am having a cup of Chatfield's Premium

Cocoa Powder. It is 100% Cocoa Powder (that is the only ingredient).

Obviously, we don't have a Whole Foods Store on every corner here in

Estonia (where I live) but I bring back several containers of

Chatfields in a suitcase full of other good and otherwise

unattainable stuff like organic flaxseed, quinoa, mungo beans, bee

pollen, wheat germ, certain USP certified vitamins, decaf green tea,

etc. whenever I am in America.

Incidentally, Chatfield is only 60 calories per cup (with of course

additional - but useful - calories when mixed with soymilk or fatfree

milk). It works well with a dash of honey.

I also recommend it highly.

Hi Apricot:

When you say " pure cocoa powder " do you know its nutrient breakdown?

When I ask Nutritiondata.com for the nutrient analysis of 'cocoa, dry

powder, unsweetened' - nothing APPARENTLY added - it says that the

fat calories percent of total is about 50%.

For those keen to keep their fat intake down that would not seem to

be a good choice. But the product you use may be quite different.

(And I realize not everyone chooses to reduce fat intake, either.)
