Guest guest
On another list, there was a link to a table that showed that the average BMI for US men in their forties was 28-something, with not-vast improvements on either side (that was the peak fattiness decade). What's all this about 25 and under being "normal"? I think the general truth is that we've just got a lot of seriously "packing" people (including yours truly, formerly) in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Of course, with it being the average and not the median, maybe everyone's really lean and it's just a few huge ex-football-players or something that's skewing the stats . . . not. Anyway--finally we have a category where we can be pleased about being "below average" . . . . A recent headline said that Colorado is still the state with theleanest people. This made me imagine a state full of buffed bodies. However, when I read further, I encountered the following statement:"Colorado is still the leanest state with 47 percent of adultsoverweight or obese compared to 65 percent nationally (31 percentobese)."My vision of buffed bodies popped like a bursting balloon!Tony
