Guest guest
I walk exactly one mile routinely in 20 min easily, HR=78, 69yo. I can walk 2 miles at 3.6 mph at least, that's 16.7 mins. HR won't be much higher. I never thought HR meant anything, because I won't get to 130 HR unless 15 mins at 4.6 mph, 14% grade. It needs to say something about BP. But not the one I originally had found, as this one asks you to measure your pulse also.http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=11201It might be interesting for us to set up a table in the files to compare our results in a similar way to Francesca's BMI table. It would probably need columns for: ID, age, BMI, pulse at five minute point, pulse at end of walk, time taken to walk the mile (min:sec), and whether the mile was walked on an accurately measured, flat, athletic track (Y/N). If only a metric track is available the time could be adjusted proportionally.Any takers? With my arm in a sling it will be a while before I can enter fully realistic data for me. But in a couple of weeks I would be happy to enter some sling-encumbered data.Rodney.
