Guest guest
Hi folks: Here are three, superficially contradictory, facts upon which you might wish to ponder. A) Spinal bone density is 8.4% higher in August than in February. [PMID: 11994336] Canada has a rate of osteoporosis and fractures that is less than half the rate in the US. [surgeon General's Report] C) The highest rates of hip fracture in the US are in a belt that runs approximately from New Mexico to Georgia. [surgeon General's Report] Rodney. Guest guest
Hi Tony: Yes. But does that not seem to conflict with both A) the highest rates being in the South of the US where people can go year round in shirt sleeves and the sun is higher in the sky (filtered less)? and osteoporosis rates in Canada being much lower? Seems incongruous. Rodney. > > It is well known that sunshine converts cholesterol derivatives in the > skin to Vitamin D.
