Guest guest
Hi All, A paper suggesting that the increase in immune response to an allergen causes physiological changes are prevented by CR, although CR induces these changes in the same direction as does the allergen. Freund's adjuvant is nasty. The mice we would inject with it to make monoclonal antibodies hated it. I believe that it is now not allowed in Canada or the US anymore. Definitions are: prolactin: Pituitary lactogenic hormone adrenocorticotrophic hormone: A peptide hormone that is produced by the anterior pituitary gland. It stimulates the adrenal cortex to secrete glucocorticoid hormones, which help cells synthesise glucose, catabolize proteins, mobilizefree fatty acids and inhibit inflammation in allergic responses. corticosterone: An adrenocortical steroid that has modest but significant activities as a mineralocorticoid and a glucocorticoid. Pharmacological action: steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. See the not pdf-available below. Esquifino AI, Cano P, Jimenez V, Cutrera RA, Cardinali DP.
