Guest guest
Accuracy of devices/gadgets to estimate calories? Not very. http://tinyurl.com/cpepc Quoting... " While the manufacturers tout the accuracy of their calorie counters, most commercial products will likely overestimate the number of calories burned by 15 percent to 30 percent, according to Bassett, a professor at the University of Tennessee. Bassett and other researchers studied one of Polar's earlier calorie-counting models, the S410, and found that on average the number of calories burned was off by 4 percent for the 10 men tested and 12 percent for the 10 women tested. " Measuring energy expenditure for most of us is a pipe dream. In a free-living individual it is not possible to do, " Bassett said, adding that the current crop of products was a good start.
