Together with Albaugh (another intermittent faster), I've

started a group devoted to intermittent fasting. This group is

focused on the effects on physiology and health. We expect that both

practitioners of intermittent fasting and scientists with an interest

in the physiological effects of intermittent fasting will want to

join. I have posted on IF here before, and you can read a more recent

post on my blog:

Why a separate group? Because intermittent fasting is not the same

thing as caloric restriction! However, you are free to belong to both

groups, and I suspect that many will. The founding members are both

practitioners and scientists. We are interested in the idea that

intermittent fasting may be a preferable way of obtaining the health

benefits associated with caloric restriction. Although we are

interested many aspects of fasting, including styles, effects and

reasons to fast, this group is not specifically about weight loss,

colonics, the purging of toxins or the attainment of spiritual goals.

Just visit fasting/ and click on the

link to join. We will approve you. The current settings are that

members must be approved, but messages do not. If spam becomes a

problem, we'll consider changing the settings.

If you are interested in intermittent fasting, please join!
