Guest guest
Lynn - It is rare, but CLL can sometimes involve the kidneys. Mine does - diagnosis, glomerulonephritis. The good news is that I found a nephrologist familiar with the connection and my labs have been in the normal range for over 5 years. My protein loss at diagnosis was 5000 (top of normal 150 at my lab) and it was expected that I would need a kidney transplant. Have you had a 24 hour urine for protein and creatinine clearance? My nephrologist, when my numbers have been slightly off has asked if I was dehydrated, so your situation may be as simple as needing to drink more water, but I would ask about the possibility of a kidney connection. Guest guest
Lynn, Ask your doctor to do a 24 hour Creatinine clearance. Essentially they draw your blood and then you pee in a bottle for 24 hours. It is the most accurate common test of renal function, cheap and helpful. Hydration and recent muscle stress (a heavy workout or injury) can effect renal tests Another reason to to be well hydrated become you get a blood test. It makes drawing the blood easier.
