Guest guest
The Udo Erasmus web site has a lot of information about ALA. He is in the business of selling his oil blend which has an n-3:n-6 ratio of 2:1. He recommends one tablespoon (approx. 14g) per 50 lb of body weight. http://www.udoerasmus.com/articles/udo/fish_oil.htm The bulk of the literature generally says that n-3:n-6 ratio of 1:4 is desirable. This is quite different from Udo's oil blend, but Udo's formula may try to compensate for the extra n-6 in the diet. Guest guest
Hi JW: Don't forget that walnuts are a prime target of that nasty Aspergillus flavius which figures that god put it there for the sole purpose of creating aflatoxin. Walnuts are probably third on the list behind corn and peanuts. Perhaps after opening them one needs to wash them? This is presumably another reason for the demonstrated link between ALA sources and prostate cancer. Guest guest
Nuts for commercial sale should be subjected to a fumigation process that kills the bacteria and mold. Now you can stay awake at night worrying about residual effects if you are so inclined.
