Hi All,

The Lean Plate club is offering up advice on healthy foods.

See:

Each week, Lean Plate Club members assist each other with food finds,

inspiration

and more. We ran out of time before this message could be posted in a recent Web

chat. Please know that I read all your messages and personally answer as many as

time permits.

Seattle: Hi Sally. Just wanted to mention another Web site you may not know

about

that has been very helpful to me: the World's Healthiest Foods.

http://www.whfoods.com/ This is not a weight loss site as such, and it's not

selling

anything. It's focused on encouraging people to eat in a healthier way and also

includes an enormous amount of information about nutrients in everyday foods. It

also includes what those nutrients do for you, along with recipes, inspiration,

etc.

It has a list of what it calls the world's 100 healthiest foods,

http://www.whfoods.com/foodstoc.php selected for their density of nutrients per

calorie, which is now taped to my refrigerator door. I lost about 15 pounds over

a

few months just by deciding to eat only foods that were on the list! It wasn't

hard

to do, as it's very reasonable. It's a diverse list with lots of good stuff on

it

and some surprises--who knew that eggplant was so good for you? I boosted my

exercise a bit and tried not to eat much after about 6:30 p.m., but I didn't

have to

count calories at all.

What I really like about the Web site is that it reversed my whole deprivation

psychology around food. Once I realized all the terrific things that are in

apples

and how great they are for your body, I started feeling like eating an apple was

actually a pretty exciting thing to do for myself! Hope it may be helpful for

other

folks as well! Thanks for all your great work with the Lean Plate Club. Much
