In fact to the point of colic (gas). It's a practical/emotional aspect. The one thing that formula feeding provides is exact measurement of intake. Of course breast pumping can provide that. Then there's a mother's toxin issue. Surely the mother provides immunity, but that's accomplished in a few weeks. One big issue was DHA which I think was a great addition to formula and that has been done in the popular formulas I checked. BTW, anyone wanting precise info can get online and order it from the mfgrs. DHA in formula is maybe more sure than mother's milk. Recall that no one tests the mother's milk. From a math standpoint, recall, that some of the rats die earlier than others, but if you compare curves, the CRed will be to the right, ie, live longer. BUT, can't SOME of the CRed rats die before the longer-lived non CRed?
