Guest guest
Well, here is my fast and dirty version of what I am doing from what I have read of these two systems: Approx 30% protein, 30% fat, 40% low glycemic index carbohydrates breakfast: either protein and fat or complex carbohydrate with no sugars (except natural fructose, not high fructose corn syrup) or fats, no juice in the morning due to tendency for higher blood sugars in the morning. (I am intolerant of many grains and milk carbs, so I always do protein, fat and vegetables: my staple breakfast is two poached eggs over barely steamed green beans topped with a bit of cheese and a bunch of salsa from my secret recipe (low fat and glycemic index) lunch: meat, fat, low glycemic index vegetables, no bread or grains dinner: lean meat, low glycemic vegetables, whole grains, milk carbohydrates You eat as much as you want, but are careful not to mix fat and carbohydrate " incorrectly " I travel with Zone bars, so I can maintain when I cannot control meals, or when I am in a fix from changing time zones. And you can have a couple of squares of 70% chocolate for desert, or fruit and cheese, or nuts... I have been doing this for over a year and am slowly but surely losing weight (following the group dictates about this), and I do not crave anything and I find it easy despite a schedule that is driving me to distraction. Apologies to Michel Montignac and Barry Sears for not doing justice to their systems here From: Francesca Skelton <fskelton@...> Reply- < > Subject: [ ] " Zone " /French(was:: Fat/carbohydrate balance and effect on HDL,LDL, & TG) Da te: Sun, 03 Jul 2005 11:31:27 -0400 Kayce: what is the zone/french diet? on 7/3/2005 8:08 AM, kayce cover at k_cover@... wrote: > " Zone " / French diet,
