Hi Maco:

Just for reference ........... the following link indicates that

olive oil consumption in Crete averages, for every man woman and

child on the island, thirty-five litres a year. (Thirty kilograms

divided by a S.G. averaging about 0.86).

That is the average. Difficult to believe I know. The reason it is

so high is that much of the produce grown on the island is preserved

in olive oil for eating off-season. And when the food is eaten the

olive oil is eaten with it.

Those dying from CVD were the ones who had consumed appreciably more

than the average. So I do not think that using a little olive oil

occasionally need be any cause for concern. I hope not, because

knowing this I still use it in small quantities!

so many " good "

things end up being the opposite or neutral as the truth about them emerges. If

they find out

that in fact resveratrol is nasty for you, I'm going to get seriously grumpy.
