Hi Maco: Just for reference ........... the following link indicates that olive oil consumption in Crete averages, for every man woman and child on the island, thirty-five litres a year. (Thirty kilograms divided by a S.G. averaging about 0.86). That is the average. Difficult to believe I know. The reason it is so high is that much of the produce grown on the island is preserved in olive oil for eating off-season. And when the food is eaten the olive oil is eaten with it. Those dying from CVD were the ones who had consumed appreciably more than the average. So I do not think that using a little olive oil occasionally need be any cause for concern. I hope not, because knowing this I still use it in small quantities! http://www.sfakia-crete.com/sfakia-crete/olive.html --Thanks. That's something of a relief. Still irritating (though inevitable) how so many " good " things end up being the opposite or neutral as the truth about them emerges. If they find out that in fact resveratrol is nasty for you, I'm going to get seriously grumpy. Maco
