Greetings,

Here's an opportunity for patients to encourage Congress to include blood

cancers in the existing DoD (Department of Defence) medical research program

and to appropriate $15 million dollars for this purpose.

See backgrounder for details

" There are compelling reasons for a DoD investment in blood cancer research.

First, military personnel may be at special risk for developing the blood

cancers. The Institute of Medicine has concluded that there is evidence or

a suggestion of evidence of an association between exposure to Agent Orange

and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and myeloma. "

(This letter is not being circulated on the Senate side, so there is

no need to contact your senators.) "
