Failures have always outnumbered successes --about 10 to 1 in agents that reach clinical phase, about 5,000 to 1 for compounds active in test tubes. But for blood cancers the potential seems high for progress, given the high sensitivity of lymphocytes to chemo--, radio- and biologi-therapies.
