Guest guest
I won't go into your speculations but I will clarify rather than " imply " what I do believe. 1) I sweat a lot. I'm about to go run 5 Miles. I am running earlier in the day, but I predict I will sweat a lot today too. 2) I don't consume any processed food, so I believe I am lower than most for salt consumption. 3) I have discovered experimentally (albeit 1 rat) that supplementing simple salt a) eliminates cramping, and causes other positive benefits (less voiding). I did try KCl and it didn't work as well if at all. I also tried adding small amounts of calcium etc to better mimic actual composition of solution in human body but it didn't make any difference vs. pure salt, and dilute salt water was far easier to tolerate on a regular basis. 4) I know other CR folks (on other list) who have reported other negative symptoms from inadequate salt consumption (low energy, lethargy). I did not experience those particular symptoms but it does justify in my mind that I am not unique in my too low salt experience. Good luck with your adventures in chemistry 101. I don't think I'd mess with pure elemental sodium or chlorine, either of which could injure or kill me. Together as far as I can tell they are harmless in the modest amounts I'm consuming relative to my personal need. Anyway as I said, this is a bit of a detail. Rodney.
