Guest guest
Hi Folks, When I first joined , I was overwhelmed by the number of acronyms people used in their posts. I'm familiar with many of them now, but I thought it might be nice have an acronym look up table for new members. I've added an Acronym Table to the Database which is a compilation of CRON-related acronyms I've collected since Friday night. It is a work in progress. I've left off non-CRON acronyms, like " IMHO " , but I put in " pdf " because people refer to this type of document in their posts all the time, and there just might be one or two people who don't know what it means. You are welcome to add new entries. I plan to, as I run across new ones. Please let me know, too, if you find errors. Thank you, Diane
Guest guest
Hi All, http://www.acronymsearch.com/ is a pretty good source of general purpose acronyms. CRers and some in specialty areas assume that all know the acronyms that they use, but others do not or are used for altenative purposes. Guest guest
Hi Al, The intent of this database is collect acronyms relevant to the discussions on . For instance, I went to www.acronymsearch.com and tried " ALA " and did not get " alpha linolenic acid " . Nor does " DR " produce " dietary restriction " . And of course, " CR " does not yield " calorie restriction " . Sometimes one can get the meaning from the context of the post, but sometimes not. I simply wanted to make interpretation easier for Newbies.
