Guest guest
Dear Members,Ancrod:Ancrod is an enzyme obtained from Malayan pit viper venom. It degrades fibrinogen into unstable form of fibrin. Thus the Fibrinogen levels depleted & an apparent heparin like effect occurs. It is administered as slow infusion of 2U/kg over 6 hrs for Deep Vein Thrombosis and used in heparin contra-indicated patients (heparin induced TCP / Hypersensitivity) who requires immediate anticoagulation.
