Guest guest
Twinman25, I wish that I could tell you that LDN had decreased/stopped any numbness, but it hasn't for me. Numbness is one of my most tolerable symptoms though. Not standing or walking and no balance is what I really wish would change for me, but chances are that it won't. At least not for a while. Just hang in there, and keep taking LDN! Marcie (PPMS) In a message dated 8/27/2004 5:26:42 PM Central Standard Time, twinman25@... writes: started taking the 3mg ldn capsule dose. Guest guest
Twinman, Sept. 9th will be 2 yrs. since starting LDN. I have, from the beginning, started and stayed on 4.5 mil. Like you, I had alot of numbness that I am, just now, starting to notice improvement. My finger tips have been numb for 5 yrs. and are now back to almost normal. If your'e doing well on the 4.5, give it time. It does take time for our bodies to undo damage that has been occuring in the past. And, I am a believer in the "undoing" process that my body is finally able to go thru with LDN. Have patience! Carol
Guest guest
Twinman, you have run into the bit of confusion surrounding the expectation of LDN that we encounter periodically. The intent and expectation is that LDN will stop the progression of MS. All of the sometimes immediate improvements we encounter are a bonus. If LDN does stop the progression as we hope, then the opportunity exists for your body to begin repairing itself. And then, as your body does repair itself, you're looking at slow and long term improvements. Perhaps not really noticeable unless you make entries in a log on a regular schedule and compare them periodically. Not daily, but perhaps weekly or monthly. Nerve repair is a very slow process. I will compare it to my son's recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his time in Iraq. He told me a couple of weeks ago that he isn't getting any better. I pointed out to him that he can now drive down the freeway without imagining people firing at him from off the road, that he can now stand in line in any store without trembling, that he was no longer stuttering. Last January he couldn't do any of those things, nor could he sleep, look people in the face when he spoke to them, or tolerate being touched at all. (I think the last problem is also a thing of the past - we have a new grandchild on the way!) Slow improvements are often not recognized... So hang in there and look at the long term. At least now we have a much better picture to look at. ----- Original Message ----- From: twinman25 low dose naltrexone Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 4:25 PM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] have question on ldn Hello LDNersI started taking the 3mg ldn capsule dose. Guest guest
Hey twinman25, Just my opinion, but before you consider jumping to 6mg you need to give your 4.5 dose much more time. You've probably had your numbness for some time, and ldn is not going to remove that overnight. Patients is the most difficult thing to accomplish, especially when we have heard some real remarkable stories. . . . Good luck, hope all continues to go well. -----Original Message----- From: twinman25 [mailto:twinman25@...] Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 7:26 PM low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] have question on ldn Hello LDNers I started taking the 3mg ldn capsule dose.
