I agree with , the Chiro must come highly recommended and be gentle. A good chiro method for MSers is NUCCA. There are very few of these guys (3 in all of NY) but I swear by them.

Most of us have a weak side and try to compensate using the other, resulting in twisting of the spine. I know using my cane too long does this. My one leg feels shorter and I limp more ,my hips hurt and sometimes my neck does too. This , after many years of pain, is my signal that I need an adjustment and have waited too long. I am amazed that after one gentle adjustment , my legs are the same length and no more pain. I go once a month now, whether I think I need it or not.

He can always tell if I am crooked after I put each foot on 2 dift. scales and the weight difference between them is more than 3 lbs. I love my chiro!

My niece was going to my local lady chiropractor for her scoliosis. My friend's wife goes to where I normally go for hers. They have recently been to chiropractic conferences for scoliosis treatments. Gotta be better than a bar in your back.

Hi all:

I downloaded the referenced article (15 bucks!), and find it less

than convincing. For one thing, there's no indication how long the

follow up is for these people. Long term followup for PWMS is

crucial, since the disease progresses so slowly. You really have to

follow people for 2 to 5 years to see if their progression has

stopped.

Additionally, the method of indication of improvement is totally

subjective. A better method would be some measurement of improvement

on the EDSS scale.

Finally, attributing MS to trauma is illogical, since it doesn't

explain why MS is so much more prevalent in northern latitudes. Do

people in Minnesota get in more car accidents than people in Florida?

All that being said, I'm a firm believer in chiropractic--my brother

is a chiropractor, and a darn good one, and I've had definite

improvement in my head and neck mobility, both subjectively and as

seen on my X-Rays. My brother practices a technique called CBP,

which has the goal of moving your posture towards a norm via

adjustments and traction. You can learn more here:

There actually is rather overwhelming statistics correlating some sort of

trauma with the onset of ms.
