Pharmacovigilance in India - The Progress

Dear All,

I consider myself to be quite fortunate to have attended all the three events in

Pharmacovigilance held in India, in the last 8-9 months. This includes the SOPI

Conference (Vijay Sir was also a speaker), IQPC Conference and the recent Virtue

Insight Conference in India.

With pleasure, I am happy to inform that the prime topic of discussion was

" Improving Current Scenario of Pharmacovigilance in India " and every stake

holder (Indian and Foreign participant) actively participated in these

discussions. In fact the Industry was most active in these discussions.

With regards to PvPI, the most shocking news was the transfer of ownership from

AIIMS to IPC, in March 2011. I am sure most of the NetRUMians may be unaware of

this and still consider that the Pharmacovigilance Program for India is headed

by Dr.YK Gupta at AIIMS.
