Guest guest
If a doctor M.B,B.S. who has been working along with a surgeon for a couple of years as an assistant surgeon has good enough experience about pre & post-operative management of a surgical patient & of course developed adequate surgical skills, then why oppose him/her to do surgeries especially in emergency life-saving procedures? After all if one with M.S. degree-- if has no experience -- then only degree cannot make him/her do skillful surgery due to lack of experience. This has been seen now-a days due to inadequate surgical hands-on training in freshers, M.S. & /or D.N.B. As a senior surgeon I am seeing this often among juniors. This needs to be noted . Guest guest
Yes I agree that those who have the experience and have competence should work. In rural/tribal areas MBBS also is a big degree! Guest guest
Sorry Sanjivani. No other topic can be discussed if we are discussing a scheduled topic which currently is " Medical Writing " , till it is closed (which may not be possible foe next month!) Vijay > > I am happy that we all give weight-age to experience than just the degree. I have seen doctors from C.M.C. Vellore who are trained in rural hospitals after M.B.B.S. know how to perform L.S.C.S., how to give spinal anesthesia very well. Today in the Era of selling & purchasing degrees, we must teach the masses that ultimately EXPERIENCE is the greatest teacher . Patients must judge the knowledge of the doctor & then decide what to do. For rural set-ups all important life-saving procedure by doing surgery must be taught to medicos, so that many lives are saved. >
