I haven't heard of anyone using acupuncture for MS. I do know of a 3 pack a day smoker who was able to quit with acupuncture, and never had any cravings. He finds the smell of cigarette smoke repulsive now.

Hi ,

I went to an acupuncturist several years ago. There was improvement in

symptoms but it was not long lasting.

At that time I was in business and it was a 3 or 4 hour commitment between

travel time and treatment time. I just did not have the time to do that 2-3

times a week. I wish I had, I think that it could be very helpful.

Regards,

Tom

I believe Acupuncturists are like any one else, you get good ones and you get not so good ones, heck it's like that with Mechanics, Doctors, Chiropractors,Plumbers, Farriers you name it!

I saw an acupuncturist for a pain in shoulder

once. It disappeared after first session.

Hallo

I've been seeing an acupuncturist (he is also a qualified gp) for

the last three months. Initially I saw him once a week and now see

him once a fortnight. I also take TCM tablets after meals that he

gave me.

The approach is quite different to that of western medicine and

employs quite different terminology and diagnosis of you: as a whole

rather than you:that-bit-that-is-disease-whatever.

I am not worse but then it has only been a short period and prior I

was at a stage where my symptoms were considered 'mild'. I

definitely feel better (move better, better spatial awareness) in

the days after I have had acupuncture. My state of mind is also

definitely improved.

I have also been to an acupuncturist who did cupping on my back and

then massaged a chinese lineament into my upper spine. Maybe it was

a placebo effect, but this was fantastic - it was like my system

was being woken up after having slowly fallen asleep. This

acupuncturist's father has MS and he has treated him for the last

10 years without progression of his symptoms - he sounded like he

was RRMS but I don't know for sure.

For me, at the same time I have also been changing my diet,

meditating and increasing my exercise. So it is hard to say if it is

one thing in isolation or the combo. I believe all in combination

contribute helpfully.

In the manner of going to any health practictioners I wouldn't just

go to anyone - both the above were recommended to me.

Hope that's of some help

Cheers

I tried acupuncture at the beginning, one acupuncturist came here from China,

that was fantastic, I had no problems few weeks after, but unfortunately he died

and there was no other. This one used a

lot of needles, he said with something like MS you have

to use drastic measures. I tried to use

others who are in the country but never had good results. The results were only

for few days.
