Guest guest
Howdy all, Just thought that I would ask for a little input from anyone who has been on LND for around six months or more. I began LDN in February, and for the first five months had great success on 3mg. Walking better, balance great, much more strength, bladder control really good, and fatigue almost gone. At month six, I began to notice that my balance was getting worse, and in addition, I was beginning to have lots of muscle spasms in my legs---also a lot of pain. I also was waking in the middle of the night three or four times with my legs jerking (which I took a Baclofen or xanex to eliminate, so that I could go back to sleep). I moved the LDN up to 4.5, and completely lost the muscle spasms and pain in my legs (well, almost); leg jerking in the middle of the night also was pretty much eliminated....but my bladder has become horrible, and my sleeping is now affected...I have a lot of difficulty getting to sleep, and also staying asleep. Anyone have any suggestions? I've found myself going back and forth from the 3 to 4.5, some nights just to get a little sleep, and also for bladder problems. Pam prsklak@... Guest guest
Pam, We sound very similar I also started in Feb with 3.0 after 6 months felt the same way so tried 4.5. . . That was a disaster with my bladder, got up at least 5 or 6 times to use the restroom on those nights. .. So it's back to 3mg?? I'm almost tempted to try 6mg just to see what kind of reaction I get? That's the only change I can see we try before we eliminate and simply go back to 3mg. Good luck and keep us abreast of your progress. -----Original Message----- From: pamridge49 [mailto:prsklak@...] Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2004 9:12 AM low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Confused about how to poceed Howdy all, Just thought that I would ask for a little input from anyone who has been on LND for around six months or more. Guest guest
Pam for the bladder problems if it is UTI, I use high potency cranberry tablets together with slippery elm twice a day. *Zora* San Trinidad West Indies *** -----Original Message----- From: marciemjm@... Take 2 of your 3mg capsules. If that doesn't help, you can always cut back. I just wouldn't quit the LDN. I've been on LDN for about 300 days now, and my improvements remain good. Better bladder function, better sleep (after the 1st month), a sense of well being. Most of the time I have more energy. Hang in there! Dang this disease or condition or whatever you want to call it! Guest guest
Thanks Zora, I do not have a UTI, which is only proven when I drop back to 3mg of LDN..... I am thinking of trying 6mg as a few people have said. Will let you know what happens. At the moment, I just saw an orthapedic surgeon today, and I am going to have to go off the LDN for a while, because I am having a knee replacement in November. Am not looking forward to the surgery, nor going off the LDN. Pam

Guest guest
Thanks Zora, I am almost more nervous about going off LDN than I am about the knee surgery itself---my worst concern after surgery, is whether or not I will be able to kneel....I can't imagine working out in the garden, much less cleaning the shower stalls, without the ability to kneel....as we all know with MS, my " squatting " abilities are long gone! LOL Pam
Guest guest
I can imagine your concern. Stopping LDN…well you have one HUGE consolation, you’ll be able to go back on it as soon as possible. Once again, try to attract soothing thoughts. Guest guest
Hi Lennie, I'm having surgery in November, around the 15th (they haven't given me a definite date. I wrote an email to the webmaster on Dr. Bihari's site, and his response was to stop taking it approximately 2-3 days before surgery. He said that in reality it is out of your system about six hours after you take it....<S> Hope that helps. What kind of surgery are you going to have?
