I wrote to Dr, Max Gomez and told him I'd collect testimonials from our

group, if need be. I also gave him Dr. Bihari's phone number, the

website address, and told him about the conference.

Did anyone catch Bazell being interviewed by Imus this morning

(Thursday morning)? He let out a bit of a Freudian slip when he said something

to

the tune of " autism was taken out of the vaccines. " He meant thimerosal of

course, but he said autism. Do we really think he believes his own report?

Bazell did look incredibly uncomfortable. I think we're chipping away at the

armor.

Dr. Deth and all,

No matter what Bazell said as the segment ended, tonight I got to

see a university professor and scientist on television saying the vaccine

supply is not safe. No matter everything else, that statement, said by a

non-parent and a professional member of the scientific community, on

national television is absolute gold! Thinking people must acknowledge

that those who oppose mercury belong to a larger school that can no

longer be characterized as merely " hysterical " even if they did preface

all this as an " emotional response. "

The fact that they acknowledged thousands of us being so upset as

to write, phone, and fax them over this is a great victory in itself.

Here's to a Coalition of Parents and Scientists, but also here's

to a first--too short though it may have been, of the truth actually

being pronounced so plainly on national television.

Thanks, Dr. Deth!

Of course pretty much everyone on this impressive list agrees with you.

But let's recognize what just happened.

On monday night Bazell, a credible, even high-profile chief

scientific/medical reporter made a mistake and stumbled into a hornet's

nest of angry parents, parents who know more than he does about autism.

His credibility and professional career were in jeopardy. From the

external pressure created by many on this list and more, he was forced to

provide the piece that aired tonight. I would suspect that both Bob

and had a role to play in getting this

vaccine-related segment to run. Looking at Bazell's body language

and his clearly defensive comments, I suppose that we made him sweat. In

its own small way it was like the loss of Dan Rather's credibility when

his facts dissolved underneath him.

Let's face it, we are making a very public challenge to the medical

establishment. The gauntlet has clearly been laid down. It is now up to

us to follow-up and prove what we believe to be the truth about what

causes autism. We need to publish good studies and make sure that the

public is aware of what the science indicates.

Clearly I've put my butt on the line. I can understand and appreciate how

genetic polymorphisms in folate, methionine synthase, glutathione,

adenosine and ubiquitination pathways (to name just a few) can combine

with heavy metal exposure to adversely affect a process that is central

to synchronized oscillations of neural networks and myelination. In

combination with the success of treatments that address these genetic and

environmental factors, it all adds up to a unified and coherent story of

autism (and ADHD) in which methylation, and dopamine-stimulated

phospholipid methylation play a central role. Other toxins may

contribute, but, in my view, the central story is clear. We need to

further confirm and integrate the elements of the story and articulate

the message in a clear manner to the autism community, the medical

community and the public at-large. We also need to keep the focus on

being anti-thimerosal and not get continually cast in the role of being

anti-vaccine and therefore pro-epidemic (the bird flu is obviously on the

horizon).

We all have things we can do, and organizations like AutismOne, DAN, NAA,

CAN, SafeMinds, NoMercury etc. have the crucial ability to speak on

behalf of autism. There is power here, and Bizell needs to learn

more about autism so that we can one day tune in to NBC and hear what we

know to be the real story about autism and thimerosal.

I had my 15 seconds of fame tonight, but its back to work tomorrow.

I, like most of you, who watched the NBC New with guest speaker Rober

Bazell, was angered to hear him say there is no scientific links between

mercury and autism. I took the privilege of writing a page

long view of how I and many other families with activistic children feel.

One of the question I asked , to ask was.

IF IT IS SO SAFE, ASK ROBERT BAZELL IF ITS OKAY TO GIVE HIM 250 micrograms

OF ETHYL MERCURY AS THE CAMERA ROLLS ON. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO THE AMOUNT OF

MERCURY GIVEN TO CHILDREN WHO WEIGH 100 LBS. LESS IN THE 1990`S. I DON'T

THINK IT WILL TAKE LONG FOR AN ANSWER, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE DOCTOR READY

TO ADMINISTER THE SHOT AND SOMEONE STANDING BY TO PICK HIM OFF THE FLOOR.

THIS SHOULD ANSWER MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ON THE TOXICITY OF

MERCURY. IF ROBERT BAZELL DOES NOT FEEL WELL I RECOMMEND CHELATION ALONG

WITH DMSA AND ALA.

I normally don't speak out like this, but when it effects a loved one like

our children, I felt I had too.

They picked the worse of Marie McCormick. Her third world thinking on vaccines

came across as really bright considering we're a first world nation. They always

seem to have something to fall back on. Once WHO policy sinks in a lot of people

will see her as a complete idiot.

is his managing editor. I think he can fire him. Keep feeding

, but it's also time to think about widening the scope just a little bit

to the other networks. S.3 and it's evil twins may be just around the corner.
