Guest guest
Hi all, I acknowledge that most of the material in this is from the creative teaching-training of Dr Satyanarayana of Indian Council of Medical Research. Preparatory: - Have the zeal to publish your MS - Do a good job at writing your MS - Decide on the message of the MS - Decide about its focal point - Be sure of the exact message that you wish to transmit through your MS. Honestly self analyse: - Is the MS worthy of being written? - Does it offer anything worthwhile? - Have similar findings been reported earlier? - If so, what will this MS add to the existing knowledge? - Who are going to be the readers? - Apply the `who cares' test. Do not cheat yourself in answering the above questions. Select the right journal. See a current issue. Read the istructions to author. Follow the isntructions meticulously. Search the literature till date. Search hard copy as well as web. Filter web results. Update all previous search results. Assemble the material needed to write in format and style of the journal. Restrict nomber of words, pages in desired spacing of the copy. Limit tables, graphics, illustrations, references to match journal recommendations. Be conversant with Vancouver style. Most of journals use this. Vijay
