Guest guest
Your ideas for the meeting sound great. Particularly good for young doctors starting out -it will give them food for thought. CC
Guest guest
Dear Johanne, What an opportunity to help young doctors understand what it feels like to have MS. I would impress upon them that too often our doctors don't really listen to what we are saying, as is the case with LDN. I don't know if you have used marijuaqna to treat your spasms but I have and so have many others. Most people feel that it's more effective than Baclofen and I agree with them. Marijuana has been legalized in Canada for medicinal purposes so those doctors should be aware of it's effectiveness. Good luck on your speech. I'm sure you will do a great job. Just tell it like it is! Chris -------------- Original message -------------- I have a friend who has a son, who is premed at McGill University in Montreal, canada.scott has asked me if I'd be willing to go talk to medical students about MS. The person in charge of this is a doctor. says they like it when patients do a "show n tell" thing. wants me to show how to sting with bees (I did BVT for over 3 years). This is how I think I'll do this presentation.1- talk about my MS history2- talk about the bee venom therapy3- talk about LDN4- there will be a question period (I'll have all my notes to back up what I say)5- As a conclusion I want to tell the students to be more opened minded. to listen to their patients. The main reason is because many patients now can meet, exchange views, compare notes on different treatments they do.Also because doctors are generally too business to surf on the net, they should listen and check out the info patients bring to their office. And take the time to read the info patients bring. They should remember that drug companies are there to sell and make money first. They should also expand their knowledge and do a year on alternatives.Because as Dr Weil http://www.drweil.com/app/cda/drw_cda.htmlsays traditionnal medicine is good for emergences, and operations while alternative medecine is a safeguard for general health.-----------------------------------------------------------------So how does that sound? Anything else I should talk about? Who knows maybe I'll be able to open some minds on LDNJohanne F
Guest guest
Joanne, Parhaps your discussion of LDN should include a couple of the nearly universal responses: the increased bladder control, and the general feeling of well being. While not everyone does receive these benefits a very high percentage do... If doctors understood the value to the patient of those effects they might be more willing to prescribe LDN just for those issues despite their lack of belief in its effectiveness in stopping progression. Just a thought... Guest guest
Appears you will just about cover the battle we all face. The areas you are covering you are an expert on by now, so the students will have much to ponder. Best of luck with the presentation Johanne ----- Original Message ----- From: " Johanne F " <johannef@...> <low dose naltrexone > Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 8:11 PM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] going to give a conference > I have a friend who has a son, who is premed at McGill > University in Montreal, canada. > > > scott has asked me if I'd be willing to go talk to medical students > about MS.
