Guest guest
Respected members, The therapy of depression in based on the type of depression as mentioned in the DSM-IV criteria for diagnosis of depressive disorders. Also the therapy has to be individualised and patient specific treatment for remission and prevent relapse. Other co-existing morbidities are also to considered while treating including previous mediation history to avoid interactions. Compliance is important factor also. Lag period of two weeks for the drug to act is also to be considered. Cognitive behavioral therapy is added simulatenously to pharmacotherapy for better outcome.
