Guest guest
Respected members I hope this e-discussion was helpful in understanding the Pharmacotherapy of Depression. I thank Respected Dr Thawani Sir for giving me the opportunity to conduct this discussion. Thank you sir. I also specially thank respected members of the "NETRUM" who contributed to my discussion. To conclude SSRI have dominated and most useful drugs in depression. Better understanding of the monoamine and neurotrophic hypothesis in addition to role of other neurotransmiiter like glutamate, dopamine, substance P, Brain derived neurotropic factors in addition to noradrenaline and serotonin which have will established role in therapy will contribute to development to better drugs with minimal ADR profile and maximum efficacy.
