1. Get a prescription for 3.0 MG if you want to go with 3.0 MG, OR get a prescription for 4.5 MG -- filled in 1.5 MG capsules. Then you can take 2 for 3.0 or 3 for 4.5, gives some flexibility. Then call up one of the compounding pharmacists listed on the website and they'll tell you what to do with the prescription. They will compound the capsules.

2. Some people start on 4.5 and drop down to 3.0... some return to 4.5, others stay on 3.0. Others start on 3.0, try 4.5... many seem to drop back to 3.0 and stay there, others stay on 4.5. Those are the 2 basic doses. Some others have gotten their 4.5's filled with 1.5 capsules and decided to start off with 1.5 for a month, but I don't see anyone recommending that route.

I started on 3.0, after 300 days I did 4.5 ... after 38 days I dropped back to 3.0; I may or may not try another 4.5 trial, but I think I'm doing best on 3.0

I've heard of very few people giving up LDN... I think they must give up this group first and are never heard from again.

3. How about the Patent?

Subject: [low dose naltrexone] 2 questions on LDN

I'm a new member--have been hanging around reading posts for a couple of weeks and now I have 3 questions:

1. my doc just Rx'd LDN for me but found only 50 mg naltrexone doses so went to a compounding pharmacy. They had only liquid in that low dose. so I'd wind up with 2.5 mg in a tsp. Does anyone else take in liquid form like this or is there another source for capulets with no fillers?

2. Re: people on LDN who start having trouble ....if it doesn't get better by adjusting doses up or down do people get off LDN?

3. My doc could not find published research by Dr. Bihari (or anyone else) on LDN and MS (though he could find it on LDN & AIDS). Does anyone know of any published research on LDN & MS that I could send him?
