Guest guest
Lorna, I think that I can give you an answer as to why hardly anyone has answered this survey.........because the web site does not work. I have not yet started using LDN but I thought I'd go look at the survey anyway. Once I got to the web site there were several options as to how I could take the survey, PDF and several languages. I clicked on English, but nothing happened. I clicked on PDF, but nothing happened. I clicked on the buttons for every single one of the languages (even German, which I do not speak at all) and absolutely nothing happened. If other people have had the same experience that I just had, that would go a long way toward explaining why the researchers are not getting very many answers to the survey. I would be happy to answer the survey once I have started using LDN.....if someone can make that web page work. Vali Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 16:23:45 -0000 From: " loma1956 " <district@...> Subject: LDN Survey Form As far as I am aware there have been only 137 people who have responded to the survey set up by The LDN Research Trust. Hundreds of people worldwide take LDN, so why is there so few of you filling out the form? The Trustees have put a lot of time and effort into trying to get LDN into trial and responses like this make their work even harder. Now,we would ALL like to see LDN available for everyone, so why has there been a terrible response to the survey. Maybe those of us who are taking LDN and getting benefit from it are sitting back on our laurels saying " I`m alright, I`m on LDN so I`ll leave the work to others " . Well we should all be caring and trying to get LDN into trial for those who aren`t as fortunate as us in getting LDN from their doctor. Not only that we should be thinking about future generations, our kids for example, should they succumb to this horrid illness their best hope is LDN. Please, please visit www.ldnresearchtrust.org and take time to fill in the form. Let`s help this cause in anyway we can. Lorna

That's the one that Lorna said that nobody was answering, and it's the one that I couldn't get to work. As I said, I'd be happy to answer any surveys once I start using LDN, as long as their web sites work. :-) Vali

I do not know if this is the same survey that Lorna was saying in an earlier email that not enough people have answered. All I know for sure is that the surveys on Sammy Jo's web site were easy to get to (though none of them really apply to me yet) and the survey at the web site that Lorna sent earlier could not be accessed. Guest guest
The survey was closed 8/31/07 so that we would have time to get the numbers in the computer, crunch them and get them to some really smart folks to review. Everyone was put into a program that gave us a random sample to call. If your number came up we called. There were a lot of no answers or wrong numbers etc. Our students were very persistent and got the number of responses we needed to make the sample accurate. We have taken a preliminary look and it is incrediable. We will put the survey results on our web site and I am sure it will appear in the conference reports. These survey results are not rigerous enough to meet some peoples standards but I am a duck guy. Ya know, if it walks like a duck, squaks like a duck, lays eggs like a duck, flies north in the summer, hangs out with ducks, and talks like , well guys its probably a duck. I don't care that there are no double blind studies, I will scream at the top of my voice ITS A DUCK. I also want to say thanks to my students. They did all of the leg work. Most of them were doubting thomases in the beginning. At the end we have converted them. heck several are on LDN now. Now these students are the creme dela creme of pharmacy students. Most of them will be doing advanced studies and residencies next year. I am so proud of them, I am like a proud papa. If they are the example of what our schools are producing rest assured the next generation of pharmacists is going to be the best ever. Old farts like me can retire and know that these kids are going to show us up and good on them. Dr. SkipSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
