Guest guest
Hi , The magic pill is what we all hope and wait to come. May I suggest to you that you already have "The Magic Pill", it is your mind. There is no "Pie in the Sky" but there is acceptance, becoming your own advocate and taking responsibility of your health. This is certainly not to say that you have not done that....not by any means. You are obviously doing the best that you can, our minds are expert at problem solving, overcoming obstacles and finding another way......if we give ourselves a chance. I read your posts and you are winning and will continue to win. What state of country are you in? New York City--West Village How long have you had MS? Diagnosed 12/03, but had two prior episodes of double vision in 10 years before diganosis What meds do you take for your MS? LDN--3 mg; some supplements: multivitamin, evening primrose oil, calcium/magnesium/zinc, salmon oil, benfotiamine. I am going to look into hormone replacement therapy. What kind of troubles do you have with your MS? The worst symptom at this point is fatigue and dealing with humidity. The last few weeks have almost made me feel like I have the flu. I have a weak left leg that's taking forever to get stronger; I'm in physical therapy. My bladder is occasional ly spastic, especially just as I'm about to fall asleep. Oh, and falling asleep is an issue. Too often I find myself taking half an ambien. Are you still working a job? I work full-time as a teacher. If you still work does the MS make your job performance poor? I don't think so. I've learned to sit more and to work "smarter." I do get home from work, however, and CRASH. Are you trying to get Social Security? No. For one thing, I don't think I could live on it. What other health condition do you have besides MS? None, though I am in menopause. Sometimes I feel double-whammied! Do you get good family support to help you with your MS? My family is wonderful, but I also don't ask them for very much. My boyfriend travels for business and isn't around all that much. Add your own personal info. I am grateful to have found out about LDN the same week I was diagnosed and I truly believe I will not get worse. I'm still struggling, however, with accepting that I have MS and the limitations it brings. I still fall into feeling sorry for myself sometimes, despite the fact I'm probably in better physical condition than most people who post. There's so much information out there--about diet, exercise, supplements, etc.--and I find it quite confusing. Perhaps I read too may fairy tales as a kid--I want a magic pill!
