Guest guest
Dear all,Responsible self medication with drugs designed and labeled as safe would be useful to consumers that will save time and cost. However, most of the developing countries do not have approved list of drugs to be used as OTC. Can we have information from participants in this regard?Mira desaiDr. Mira Desai M. Guest guest
Sri Lanka has a list of such drugs. Category 1 - available anywhere, no prescription needed and Category 2A only from a registered pharmacy with a qualified pharmacist but no prescription needed. The list is revised periodically depending on the current problems that emerge with OTC drugs and drugs are shifted from one category to another to ensure safe use. Guest guest
Good point, having an approved OTC drug list will go a bit step in sorting out the problem of irrational use of medicine caused by self medication. . > > From: Vijay <drvijaythawani@...> > Subject: Kind attn PRUDC participants, Jaipur 2011 > netrum > Date: Friday, 4 March, 2011, 11:48 AM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > There will be one hour lab work on networking today evening 430 to 530 PM (Indian Standard Time) for the participants of " WHO Training Course on Promoting Rational Use of Drugs in the Community " (PRUDC).
