Guest guest Posted March 6, 2011 Report Share Posted March 6, 2011 Dear sir/madam, We are organizing a 3-day `Workshop on Clinical Biostatistics' at SGPGI, Lucknow on April 29, 2011 to May 1, 2011 (Friday to Sunday). The topics proposed to be covered (to varying levels of depth) include: types of data in clinical studies, data distribution, normal distribution, central limit theorem, extrapolation from sample to population, confidence intervals for means and proportions, interpretation of p values, use of statistical tests for comparisons of means and proportions, relative risks and odds ratios, survival data and methods used for their analysis, case-control and cohort studies, confounding and interaction, etc. Course faculty will include: Rakesh Aggarwal, SGPGI, Lucknow Nikhil Gupte, Pune Amita Aggarwal, SGPGI, Lucknow Accommodation will be available on prior booking in the Institute guest house. There is no registration fee for the workshop: The number of participants will be limited to around 25. Those interested may send a one-page write-up (please do not send a CV or document longer than one page) summarizing their qualifications, training, experience/expertise in clinical research, present position and activities by March 22, 2011 to sgpgi.courses@.... Those who attended a similar course on biostatistics organized by our group in 2009-2010 should not apply again. The selected participants will be informed by April 5, 2011.
