Guest guest
Hi Folks, I'm Mark. I'm new to the group. I had my surgery at NWWLS in Everett on Wednesday, 8/27 with Dr. Chock. The surgery went well and I continue with my liquid diet. Juices and soup are doing the trick. I really hated the medifast shake preparation but I think it really helped to get me in the right mindset for the week of liquids. Pain is very manageable for me. I am glad I took a couple weeks off from work to bond with my new baby stomach. I have lost all of my weight 4 times, over 75 pounds each time. It has been a never ending diet for me since I was ten. I can't guess how much weight I have lost over the years. I think 500 pounds would be a conservative estimate. When healthy, I like to run long distance. As a matter of fact, I ran the Seattle Half Marathon in Novemebr of 2007. And between then and now, I put all my weight back on. I can't do it again. I have to find a new way. I believe the lapband offers that hope. Dr. Cocks words to me just before getting my anesthetic was, " you'll never have to diet again. " Wow,what a promise. I'm motivated to see the change.
