Guest guest
One of the truths we need to remember is that there just isn't much new to say about LDN. When we have a new member we do review what we've learned, but in between there isn't much to discuss EXCEPT for off topic issues... I believe the issue that we should really be looking at is how far off topic is to far off-topic for this Board, given its original intent. Guest guest
There are already other groups that have some of the same members and could be utilized for various other topics. Spotlight_LDN (mostly all LDN takers with MS) MSWatchers (my group, broader topics, I send a lot more than MS & LDN related info there) Both ran by guys named ce (but I prefer Larry, thank you), one in the UK, and me in NY. There's also a lot of other groups, which you can see in the long list of CC's on some crosspostings. There's many MSN groups, there's MGH/Braintalk, MSFacts, MSWorld, MSWatch, the MSRC (UK)'s ezboard, my LDN ezboard, 's LDN board, ThisisMS, and the list goes on and on. I agree, this group should be 99.9% LDN related/based. Hard to control.. we can't even seem to stop the really really OT and SPAM messages. Now that should be first priority. ----- Original Message ----- From: alanms1579 low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 2004 18:26 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: chlorella(TOM BAYUK) - off-topic -- how far is too far? I believe the issue that we should really be looking at is how far off topic is to far off-topic for this Board, given its original intent. It is not that some of the off-topic information is not interesting. The problem is that some days it is difficult to find the LDN related information in amongst the off-topic information. For those of us that are continuing to attempt to use this Board as a resource for new potential LDN users, and for healthcare professionals that need convincing, the off-topic information somewhat minimizes the Board's usefulness with respect to spreading the word on LDN, and moving things towards a clinical trial. It seems that this Board has a core group of good folks, but it also seems that we have lost some of the people that were posting regularly on LDN. My feeling is that we have lost some of these people because of the large numbers of posts, with many of them being off-topic. You can certainly choose to disagree with me, but this is how I see it.I try to check this site daily, but even I find that some days it is very cumbersome to find the LDN information. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, nor do I want to step on anyone's toe's, but I do think we should look at the original intent of this Board and try to keep on-topic as much as possible. Perhaps someone could start a related Board where general discussion of off-topic items could take place in amongst the same group of people.Best regards,Alan

Status reports on how folks on LDN are doing, questions about LDN, and "related" off-topic issues (like alcohol and LDN interaction) would seem to be in keeping with the original intent of this board as an LDN resource.Tom, and others, post many interesting things. As another member pointed out, there are lots of boards for these off topic issues. If someone prefers to keep this group together, but wants to concentrate on off topic issues, then perhaps another related board could be started and monitored.Again, my comments were based on what seems to be best for forwarding the LDN cause. I meant no offense of any kind to anyone.Best regards,Alan
