Guest guest
Copied as fair use from E Drug. Having attended two such TBS at Geneva, I can emphatically vouch for the quality of knowledge exchange at these seminars. Vijay ---------------------------------------------------------------------- E-DRUG: English Technical Briefing Seminar October 30th to November 4th 2011 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- May I draw the attention of E-Druggers to the next English Language Technical Briefing Seminar that will be held in Geneva October 30th to November 4th. This is about the 15th year the seminar has been held and we still have a few spaces left. The closing date for applications is September 20th though we advise earlier applications for anyone who will require visa assistance. The web site for the seminar is at http://www.who.int/medicines/technical_briefing/tbs/en/index.html The application form is at http://www.who.int/entity/medicines/technical_briefing/formulaire/en/index.html The schedule for last year with links to all presentations and background documents is at http://www.who.int/entity/medicines/technical_briefing/tbs/tbs_e_programme_nov_2\ 010/en/index.html . This years programme will be similar but not the same. Many E-Druggers have attended the seminar but for those who have not, it provides an opportunity for participants to hear an overview of all aspects of essential medicines from policy, to quality and safety, financing and pricing and selection and rational use. There are sessions on Human Rights, Traditional Medicines, TRIPS and IP and many other interesting topics. The presenters come from within WHO and other Geneva based organizations such as the Global Fund or UNITAID and UNICEF. You can see what past participants have said about the seminar at http://www.who.int/medicines/technical_briefing/tbs/Eval/en/index.html There is no fee for the course though we try to select a mixture of participants from different countries, backgrounds and professional qualifications. Sometimes we defer participants to the next year if we get too many applicants from a single country. We usually include a few participants from the NGO community and from pharmaceutical companies and from academic institutions. Unfortunately we cannot fund any participants. I look forward to seeing some E-Druggers at the next seminar.
