Guest guest
Reg I am totally with you (I was the same way)...I asked a PT to come to meet me home, and my request was to try to get out of wheelchair to the bed by myself. He gave me those exercises. How many I do, is really up to me. So I started with 6 in a set and started increasing it very slowly. Now I do 20 in a set. At the beginning I exercised only 10-15 minutes a day, 5 days a week, just not to exhaust myself. Now I am doing 30-45 minutes/5 days a week. What you need to develop is the "WANT" attitude, do you want to use your wheelchair all the time?...........I am sure the answer is 'no'.................well then get off your butts and do something!...doesn't matter how small and short it is....but keep doing it the same time of the day....you'll surprise yourself! Zora I guess I will rephrase that It,s not that I can't... as I can still walk, which is more than some, like you I guess. But I am in need of guidance when it comes to what to do and how often or how much. It comes back to no ambition... no desire to work, so I am in a big slump I guess. That was not me for all of my working years, I was a Workaholic but I was also in great shape, now I can't even touch my toes or put my own socks on. I know that exercise is good after all I stretch and do range of motion in my left arm as much as possible to keep loose, but I tire out so bad after just walking twenty feet that I have to sit and rest, and I only weigh two twenty. Maybe now that I have upped my LDN to 4.5mgs I will find the energy to try again. Thanks for caring. Reg. Reg, I am in wheelchair since 1988, actually since 1988-1997 totally bedridden, exercise were hard to do, yes I will have times when I will do them and then again when I will not do them, but I keep persisting. Exercises help me with fatique and general well being, I am less tired, and on LDN even less, I keep having a lot of energy, the exercises are simple and as long as I can do them...there are so many benefits from them....why can't you exercise? Zora (except for my type two diabetes but then hey I can't exercise and I eat junk food) Im' a bad boy! ut then again I am now on 15mgs. of Actos for my diabetes, which is showing promise for those of us with MS also. Guest guest
Thanks Zora I needed that I will consider that a chastising that I needed, I had a PT over this AM too and she gave me a few Ideas, I do have to start slow as after two repetitions of anything I am burnt right out. My problem is that unlike some people I never got the energy boost with my LDN that others did,so I am constantly in a energy deficit. Guest guest
You are very welcome.................even though you do not have so much energy as some of us, when you start exercising, and because you are taking LDN, it just might happen that you will be able to exercise continuously and better than before, just take it slowwwwwwwwwwwww. The repetition every day is important. Good luck and keep us posted............... ***Zora*** San Trinidad, West Indies ****** *** * ----- Thanks Zora I needed that I will consider that a chastising that I needed, I had a PT over this AM too and she gave me a few Ideas, I do have to start slow as after two repetitions of anything I am burnt right out.
