Guest guest
Hello, In health economics QOL measures have become the standard means of assessing the results of health care interventions and the means of prioritising funding; but they have many other applications. o HRQOL is predictive of morbidity and mortality and is recognized as an important public health indicator. It is increasingly used to monitor the burden of disease in a population and is taken into consideration in decision-making regarding resource allocation, intervention design, and chronic disease management . o Continuous monitoring of population HRQOL gives public health agencies data they need to assess, protect, and promote population health. o Tracking population HRQOL helps identify health disparities, evaluate progress on achieving broad health goals and informs public health policy. Guest guest
hello, I do not somehow agree with the various applications of measuring QOL . These assessments are generalised means of health care interventions and the means of prioritising funding. But QOL with respect to an individual is a very subjective matter and it should not be generalised.Before/ during a treatment, the patient should be asked to rate his treatment as an individual. This is solely my opinion and have nothing against the standard procedures that you have so extensively and beautifully covered in your discussion Kunda From: smita sontakke <smitaavanti@...>netrum group <netrum >Sent: Thu, 10 February, 2011 7:33:58 PMSubject: QOL-Applications Hello, In health economics QOL measures have become the standard means of assessing the results of health care interventions and the means of prioritising funding; but they have many other applications. o HRQOL is predictive of morbidity and mortality and is recognized as an important public health indicator.
