12 yr old with ovarian cyst

Hi, my brother just called me from out of state and said his 12 yr. old

has an ovarian cyst! The DR put her on birth control for it??? I told

him I would send him information for using iodine to get rid of the

cyst. So, How much iodine would a 12 year old with a cyst take? 25 mg?

1 tsp of celtic salt? 3000 vit C? I don't know how much she weighs, I

will ask next time we talk but I would bet she is under 100 lbs.

I am usually quiet here but I have to chime in. My daughter ( who is now 18) had 2 ovarian cyst at the age of 12. One was the size of a grapefruit. Her (well it was mine she did not have one) OBGYN would not put her on birth control because of her age and she had not started her period yet. She got progestin (sp?) cream and had to put it on the back of her hand for 21 days .. then rest for 7. In about 6 months there were shrunk so that they could not find them in the ultra sound.

Thanks Joy, I will tell my brother about that also. I called my

neice's mother (my borther's ex) and talked with her about trying the

iodine and she was all for trying it!!! I am so lucky that her and I

are still close through all these years.
