Guest guest
You want the numbers to be in the upper 1/3 of the range for the T3 & T4 values. 4.6 would be mid range for T3 and you are below that so your metabolism is dogging it. Do you feel tired? Are you taking any iodine? Are you taking thyroid hormone replacement? You need more / some if you are. Steph RE thyroid test results. Hi,I had a Free T3 T4 at my request in May this year. Since I never heard what the results were I took this to assume they were fine.Since it has been bugging me, I have finally got around to phoning for the results. They were as follows.T3 4.2 (normal 2.8 - 6.5)Free Thyroxine 13 (normal 11-26)PSH 1.49. (normal 0.3024.00)Can anyone please advice as to the status of my thyroid as this means nothing to me other than it seems to be in the "normal" range. Many thanks. Guest guest
ne, that t3 is that a free t3? if so your ft3 is 37% of range ft4 is 13% of range women of childbearing age should be 60 to 80 % of that range .after menopause that drops to 40% of the range. Also your fts should be within 10 % of each other. yours are not. Someting is off in your conversion process, adrenal t3 conversion suppresion,or pituitary request for t4 to t3 conversion and further testing is necessary. are you having symptoms of hypo ? kathy > > T3 4.2 (normal 2.8 - 6.5) > Free Thyroxine 13 (normal 11-26) > PSH 1.49. Guest guest
Funny that no-one told me this was abnormal?!!! The test was done 6 months ago. I have had symptoms of hypo since I was 14. Im now 47. Got much worse after 3rd pregnancy, car crash and 3 Hep B vaccines when I was 28. Things improved slightly since starting supplements with iodine last year. This was by accident and is what led me to this forum. Fatigue and poor s/t memory remain. Tomorrow I am going to a conference in London and meeting Dr Myhill. She is very intersted in iodine. I will ask her what she thinks. <Many thanks. Guest guest
You should ask her to put you on armour or another natural dessicated thyroid only. You don't want a synthetic. Armour has t4 t3 t2 t1 and calcitonin. synthetics have only t4 and depend on your body to be able to break it all down and do the conversions , but with many of us hypo people that just doesnt happen, are you on lugols solution or iodoral ? kathy From: adrienneobbard <adrienneobbard@...>Subject: Re: RE thyroid test results.iodine Date: Thursday, November 20, 2008, 3:16 AM Funny that no-one told me this was abnormal?!!!
