Guest guest
Steph, That's really interesting about your son! I took 2 tablets today and will see if that helps. When you say iodine may increase antibodies - do you mean the Hashi's antibodies, or antis in general? I know my thyroid levels were low. After starting HC and optimizing B12, vit D and iron etc, I still couldn't tolerate Armour w/o going hyper. The LDN halted the antibody attacks enough that I no longer had hypo symptoms - temps were stable too etc. But still have falling hair and fybro breast pain each month which is what made me want to give iodine a try. My sex hormones also tested quite low and I'm hoping the iodine will help. However I do have Hashi's and I don't want to cause my thyroid further damage. Do you think the iodine will start up a Hashi's flare? Are there many ppl here with Hashi's who've had good results w/ iodine supplementation? Thanks so much, DD > > You are not on a high dose of iodine. You may want to try a higher dose to > see if it helps. Guest guest
Steph, Thanks a million for the link to the book excerpt! I'm still waiting for the book to arrive - can't wait to read the whole thing. I appreciate that. Did your husband start out on 50 mgs straight away or did he titrate up? I'm so used to dosing by symptoms and going slowly that it feels counterintuitive to jump right up to 50 mgs. I'm a chicken! > >> > >> You are not on a high dose of iodine. Guest guest
Thanks Steph. Does your husband take any thyroid hormone? I noticed in the excerpt from Dr. B in the How to Treat Autoimmune Thyroid Disorders section he doesn't mention thyroid hormones - just iodine, B vits, magnesium, antioxidants etc. > >> >> > >> >> You are not on a high dose of iodine. Guest guest
Thank you for the info. It seems I have many similarities w/ your husband. So, he must do okay with the amalgams and all the methylation stuff, eh? OH! I'm so excited! I doubled my Iodoral dose yesterday (cringing all the while!) and guess what? No fever this morning!!!! Yay. Thanks so much for the advice to increase. You were spot on. DD > >> >> >> > >> >> >> You are not on a high dose of iodine.
