Guest guest
Very interesting. Years ago iodine would have been the first line of defense on things like this. Just a word too, homeopaths believe that once thing are manifesting in the skin it is a sign of a deeper rooted issue inside the body. You may want to dig deeper into what you may have going on in your body. My thoughts are your gut. Many skin conditions are related to a gut out of balance. Foot cancer I had an itch on my ankle that would not go away, and I tried all the usual things on it to try and stop it - colloidal silver, ozonated coconut oil, alcohol, etc. to no avail. I tried a 2.5% tincture of iodine on it, and lo and behold, a painful swelling started to occur. Pus started coming out of it and the shape of the fungus became partially known. At first, I thought the fungus was about the size of a quarter, then a half-dollar, then a dollar, and now the entire fungal colony that wraps around my ankle has become visible. It hurt too much to continue with the iodine, and the iodine did not relieve the pain. I applied freshly-cut aloe vera, which also hurt at first, but eventually the pain disappeared and a dry crust formed over the fungus. I am now going back to applying iodine, and will alternately use both the aloe vera and iodine tincture. It's a horrible mess to look at. I'm grateful that this fungus is not on a vital organ! Guest guest
, I have been using iodine on my toenail fungus that had for 20 years but also add a paste of baking soda to that. It has cleared 6 of the 10 toenails from toenail fungus in few weeks time and finally all the nails are quite easy to trim. Will continue until they all clear by applying it twice a day. It may cause major healing itching for a few hours. It can be calmed by adding oatmeal flour by putting in blender by half cup and then adding water. That will remove the itching from your foot. It also seems to clear athlete fungus between the toes with just the excess baking soda there. Guest guest
I'm trying to figure out how you would have fungus in socks if they are washed. Forgive me but I am dense on this one. Guest guest
Now that it’s on the surface, have you thought of Colloidal Silver? Also, put a good organic source of Castor Oil on it...very good for healing the skin. Esther N. Guest guest
We don't have a dryer, and on cold, wet, winter days, fungus can form on the clothes. We had to throw out several towels that were covered with black mold. It's not easy to spot on black socks. Of course, I'm guessing that moldy socks were the source of the fungus. > > > > > > Very interesting. Years ago iodine would have been the first > line > > of defense on things like this. Guest guest
Wow no dryer? I could never survive without one. Too much laundry here. I think that would be something I would investing in or go to a laundermat to make sure I didn't pick up anything else. Guest guest
Esther, good idea, but my colloidal silver generator only puts out 10 ppm colloidal silver. I tried to remove black mold from the concrete walls here in the Middle East (Israel), but it couldn't cut it. Baking soda worked great, though. A high concentration of C.S. might be good for fungus, however. For healing the skin, the best is freshly-cut aloe vera. It also has the beneficial property of being a pain-killer. Caster oil? I remember it as something my mother gave to me and did nothing except getting me to loathe getting sick (not that it is that much fun!). > > I had an itch on my ankle that would not go away, and I tried all the > > usual things on it to try and stop it - colloidal silver, ozonated > > coconut oil, alcohol, etc. to no avail. Guest guest
Steph, I haven't used a clothes dryer in over four years; line dry everything. What I found, is, clothes last a lot lot longer and colors don't fade. Drying cooks the clothes and they deteriorate much faster. Guest guest
That may be but as a busy mom of 2 young kids I would never have time (or space) to hang all the laundry my family generates. I do about 5-6 loads twice a week. Steph Re: Foot cancer We don't have a dryer, and on cold, wet, winter days, fungus can form on the clothes. Guest guest
Duke, Unfortunately, this information is not displayed in the local Israeli newspapers. I shudder to think what the mold level is in New Orleans (or is it the former New Orleans?). A deep breath there could give you lung cancer. > > >> > > Very interesting. Guest guest
Not to mention dryer sheets and softeners. The perfumes in softeners (and detergent) set me off in a big way sometimes. We get hypoallergenic stuff, and use very little of it.
